 Diagnostic Characteristics:
Leaves are 3-7" long, 1.25-4" wide, simple, alternate, and obovate, with 6-10 pairs of coarse teeth or sometimes lobes. Buds are 0.125-0.25", brown, ovate, and imbricate. Acorns are 0.5-1" long, usually produced in pairs with an involucre covering a third of the way down.

Additional Information

The Swamp White Oak is a sturdy, long-lived tree that is generally tolerant to average conditions and even wet soil, but requires full sun and acidic soil.
